Remember
Top should be pressed and threads trimmed. If seams are not pressed flat, this can cause folds and bunching on your quilt.
Clip loose/long threads. Dark threads may shadow under lighter fabric
Backing should be squared and pressed
Remove selvage on backing seams, not edges
Backing and batting must be at least 4 inches larger than the top on all sides (total of 8 inches wider and longer than the top of the quilt).
Press seams open on backing
Keep top, bottom, and batting separate
If directional, mark quilt top and bottom clearly
